  1. Hi there,

Just wanted to point out a mistake on your Belgrade page, you have a paragraph about Beirut (Lebanon) instead of Belgrade in a nutshell.

  2. Mexico seems to be missing from your maps!

I cannot find routes to Cancun – it does not seem to be in either North America or Central America

  3. This is very nice and clean and I hope( but it seems to be update inormation … by the way how is it updated …real time?)
I wandered if something similar for the entire world would exist … I mean not only from or to UK
but choosing first a country of departure or arrival and then looking at destinations for another part of the world? …

    thanks

  4. John,

Sorry, but Mexico has been caught between North & Central America – we haven’t been consistent, and we need to provide an updated map, but the Cancun flights page is here – http://www.flightmapping.com/Central-America/Mexico/Cancun/.

    Didier,

Thanks for the interest and comments. We use a variety of different sources to keep up with what is going on, but ultimately our routes lists are edited manually, and for the time being we have enough to get on with just dealing with flights to/from the UK. We have looked at expanding to other countries in the past, but there are various challenges, primarily commercial considerations, which will keep our focus on our home market for the time being.

  5. Good evening,
I have a question, I have an air ticket via London-TAM to Brazil, but I want to change the date of travel. Where should I go or with whom I can talk.
    Look forward to your comments.
    Thank you!

  6. Roxy, you should go back to whoever sold you the ticket – either the agent or the airline concerned.

  7. Hi… guys great idea flightmapping… but accuracy please

Salzburg… shows a flight with Ryanair from East Midlands to Salzburg…. no such Ryanair flight exists
Also shows a flight from Coventry to Salzburg…. no such flight exists….

does no one check any of this stuff?????

    Andrew

  8. Andrew,

We do check our routes from various different sources, but no such list can ever be 100% accurate. I have deleted the Ryanair Salzburg flights from our list, but there should no longer be any reference on our site to Coventry flights, as the airport has closed to passenger operations since November last year. We are very well aware of this, as we are based in Coventry, and had actively campaigned to keep the airport open! If you have a page that mentions this, we’ll be happy to update, but the routes aren’t in our database, nor is Coventry on our list of active UK airports (at least for passenger purposes as things currently stand).

  9. Hi, I may be wrong but I seem to have noticed that Cyprus is not selectable from any map on your site. It’s not in the Middle East section and it’s not in the Europe section. Considering that it is a popular tourist destination shouldn’t be included in the flight maps?

    Regards,

    Savvas

  10. You are right, Cyprus isn’t on our Europe map, and we have a similar issue with the Caucasus. We are re-working our maps at the moment, and Cyprus will be on these, I assure you, but I’m afraid I can’t promise dates at the moment. The Cyprus flights page does provide a link to our Cyprus flights route map, but you are right in pointing out that we need to link this better from the menu page.

  11. Hi,

Just to let you know that Islay and Tiree are the wrong way around on your map UK & Ireland map.

    Cheers

  12. Thanks, we have a new world map on the go this week, then we’ll get down to re-doing the UK map. Nothing will be exactly the ‘right way round’, we’re going for something which has more in common with railway / underground system maps.

  13. What a mess this site is – accessed it from Google searching for flight from London to Santiago Spain.
Entered search parameters but then there was no clear way of initiating the search – i.e search button.
What a waste of time. Will look elsewhere.

  14. Ref Dhaka, you have two mistakes that I can see, firstly British Airways do not fly direct to Dhaka, indeed I don’t think they fly to Bangladesh at all now. Secondly in your description of Dhaka I would point out it’s in Asia not Africa !

Trying to get my wife and two year old to Chittagong on the shortest flight time from the UK, preferably at night time and without some ridiculous stop-over period in the Middle East, any suggestions (don’t mention Biman, even Bangladeshi’s like my wife will not use it).

    Regards

  15. Thanks for the correction, I’m guessing there’s a mix up with Dakar Senegal, but BA did fly there until recently. Sorry, but there aren’t really any other suggestions beyond what you have pointed out. There have been proposals for start up airlines to serve this market, the demand is there but low cost long haul is a very risky prospect for anyone to stick money into.

  16. Tom,

The page http://www.flightmapping.com/Europe/Spain/Santiago/ can be accesed from the route maps, or from the hierarchy going through flights to Europe > Spain > Santiago. The same result is also available from the flight search button on the home page, clearly labelled 2nd in from the left.

To answer your question, as both of the above pages show, Ryanair is the only airline offering direct flights to Santiago from London.

  17. mini guide to Cape Town states Nelson Mandela was on Robben Island for 27 years. He was there for 18 years and elsewhere for the rest.
Victoria and Alfred is the name of the Waterfront development

  18. Flights to Gothenburg – why no mention of City Airline who fy both from Birmingham and Manchester?
Seems a major omission as you imply its only BMI who fly to GOT.

I am pretty sure you listed them last year.

  19. Just to let you know that the flight from Bristol to Hamburg does not exist anymore – but the map connection is still there.

    Regards

    Paul

  20. Hi, great site. Couple of small points. Eastern no longer operate to IOM and Manx2 have taken over their IOM NCL route. Manx2 also operate scheduled services to GLO (Gloucester) Airport in UK which is not shown on the map. The Manx2 flights are now all under the NM code, not BPS. Thx

  21. Paul & Manx 2

Many thanks for your comments. We have a total site re-launch due in a few weeks time, and this will include an updated map, together with a full check through of all our route listings.

  22. Hi. great idea clearly laid out.

I wanted to go to Hamburg from Bristol; map says yes, flight details say no. Can you please correct.

  23. Hi,

Interesting information about how low cost airlines choose which airports to fly to.

In case anyone didn’t know, the Luton to Athens flight with EasyJet is now dead.

Despite having no luck trying to find out from them why (and getting some very blunt, rude responses from their CS – why? it was a reasonable question to ask why they have killed the route?), I think your article (http://www.flightmapping.com/Europe/Greece/Athens/) might explain a lot.

If this is the case, its a shame easyjet couldn’t negotiate better terms (presumably with Luton and Athens airports) and I certainly hope they will do so again one day, as the flights were always full and the alternatives for me are looking so expensive for regular flights to visit family…

    Thanks,

    Phil

  24. Phil,

It is rare for airlines to comment when they axe a route – they don’t usually like to draw attention to their failings, unless they particularly want to blame an airport due to a massive hike in charges etc.

A full flight doesn’t always mean a profitable one, as they need to sell tickets at the right price.

  25. Hi

I really enjoy using your web-site and it has helped me plan quite a few breaks. Thanks for your hard work.

I was looking for flights to Sofia, and according flightmapping it is possible to fly from Birmingham to Sofia (in winter). It appears on looking at the Thomson Holidays web site they have discontinued this service.

I have tried searches with them and they do still fly to Bourgas between May and Sep from Birmingham.

Thought you might like to update

    Thanks again

    Bryony

  26. Bryony,

Thanks for the information. A big update is ‘on the horizon’, but I’m afraid it is out of my hands right now. Please listen for further announcements!

    Happy holidays,

    James

  27. Hi, just thought you might like to know (if you don’t already!) that the new Brive airport is now open and operating 3 flights a week each way to London City Airport, see

    http://www.aeroport-brive-vallee-dordogne.com/

(Incidentally this is the first serious web site I have ever seen which uses Google Translate to generate its non-native language versions on the fly. Leads to some slightly eccentric English but I suppose it’s better than nothing!)

  28. I would love Easyjet to fly to Corfu from Newcastle airport as we go there regularly and have had good experiences with Easy Jet in the past Is there any possibility of this happening in the future?

  29. re :- Newcastle flights summary – not ‘compliments’ but ‘complements’.

Only a detail, but that’s what makes the site so useful.

  30. hi all
could you tell me if there is any direct flights from dublin to belgrade or if any propose low cost airlines eg ryanair etc opening connectios to belgrade

  31. Hi, I was looking for ryanair flights to ireland from East midlands. particularly looking for shannon or cork. Was pleased when your website said that ryan air had made further investments at EMA and now offer 3 destination. Dublin, Knock and Shannon. I have checked and and cannot find any flight to Shannon from EMA. Could you tell me what the situation is please?
    Thanks
    Peter

  32. That is because there aren’t any direct flights to Vladivostok from the UK!

  33. Greece has really opened up to the low cost airlines in recent years, so it could well be possible to see more flights to Corfu from various parts of the UK.

  34. Just to inform you that Canadian Affair do direct flights from Manchester to Calgary every Friday (using Thomas Cook)

  35. Thankyou. We will shortly be switching to a new routes database which has the route you mention, also operated by Air Transat.

  36. Our Europe flights map shows flights from the UK to Russia. However, only Moscow and St Petersburg offer flights to/from the UK (or Ireland) – therefore we only show a very small portion of Russia on our map. To show the whole of Russia would mean we’d have to double the width of the map, so I’m afraid we don’t do it. Our flights to Russia page gives a little bit more information about the market for flights from the UK and Ireland to Russia. Generally, you will find far more connections via Frankfurt – although Vladivostok will remain in our hearts as the terminus of the Trans Siberian Railway :)

  37. John,

I can only really repeat what we say on our Belgrade flights page – namely that you can go there with BA from Heathrow, or with Wizz from Luton. There are plenty of flights to Dublin from Luton with Ryanair.

We have heard rumours recently of Ryanair being in negotiations with a couple of other capital cities in the Balkans region, but nothing about Belgrade, especially as Wizz are already in there. I would say that the chances of direct Dublin – Belgrade flights opening up in the next 3 years are small.

  38. Peter,

We should always add a note of caution whenever Ryanair say they are investing £xxxm in an airport – all they are doing is basing an aircraft there, which they can move at any point. So these flights to Cork and Shannon haven’t proved successful, and they have been withdrawn. However, you can still fly to both destinations from Birmingham.
